MCA Reading Test Next Week
Farmington Area Public Schools students in grades 3-8 take state standardized tests each spring called the Minnesota Comprehensive Assessments (MCA) or the alternate Minnesota Test of Academic Skills (MTAS). The MCA (or MTAS) assessment is designed to test students against the state academic standards in reading, math and science. To read more about the MCA/MTAS test, please visit the district website, linked here. There is a link to the Opt Out information for both the MCA tests on the left side of the webpage, or for convenience, there is a direct link here. Opt out forms can be dropped off in the main office or emailed to dthompson@farmington.k12.mn.us.
Specific Dates:
Wednesday, April 20 & Thursday, April 21 - MCA Reading - follow MCA Alternate Schedule
Wednesday, April 27 & Thursday, April 28 - MCA Math - follow MCA Alternate Schedule
Week of May 2-6 -8th grade only - MCA Science in regular science class
*If a learner misses a test, they will make it up upon return.
*If your child is OPTing out of the test, they will have a space in an Opt Out room or they can be brought to school in time for the first block to begin at 10:15am.
District Jazz Band Concert
The Farmington District Jazz Band Concert will be on April 21 at 7:30pm. The Concert will be held at the FHS Recital Hall. This concert includes 6th, 7th, and 8th grade Jazz Bands.
Jazz Band members need to arrive at FHS at 7:00pm. They need to wear their black band shirt and black pants.
Boeckman Middle School Yearbooks have sold out!
If you did not order a yearbook, we might have a limited amount of yearbooks for sale at the end of the year, but can't guarantee.

Your child will be notified by Friday, May 27th if they will be receiving a yearbook. You will need to send payment of $35 to school on Tuesday, May 31st. Please make payment by check to Jostens.
BMS Outriders Bike Club Begins April 19th
BMS Outriders Bike Club will be starting on Tuesday April 19th. There is still time to sign up!
We will ride in the mornings before school - 7:35-8:25 a.m., on Tuesdays & Thursdays (through May 26th). We will ride in all kinds of weather, so please dress appropriately for biking outdoors. Gloves and long pants (not loose) are often needed for morning rides.
You will enter the school at DOOR 6.

The FHS Choir Department proudly presents: CABARET
Each year the FHS Choir program produces a show called CABARET. It is a musical theater and jazz variety show featuring solos, groups, dancers and a great band! This year’s show features songs like “Come Alive” from the Greatest Showman, “Don’t You Worry ‘Bout a Thing” from the movie Sing, and “I’ve Got a Dream” from Tangled, just to name a few. We are welcoming back our CABARET Children’s Chorus of current 4th-6th grade students from Farmington Area Public Schools as well. We have over 120 students from every school in our district this year! We hope to pack the Recital Hall- you don’t want to miss this amazing show! Farmington Community Ed Summer Experiences (repeat)
Farmington Community Education has opened their registrations for summer camps and youth enrichment experiences for youth age Kindergarten-Grade 12. There are adult enrichment opportunities also. The print catalog will be mailed to all local homes within District 192 in the coming week.

COVID Tests Available (repeat)
The district is offering OPTIONAL COVID testing using the BD VERITOR test.
You may pick up your BD Veritor test box from your school office. Each box contains two tests.
You will need a compatible device to use this test using the Scanwealth App. You can see which devices are compatible here.
These tests are nasal swabs that can be administered anywhere and the app has videos to walk you through the steps. It takes about 20 – 30 minutes to complete. If you are having technology difficulties please contact the company, their phone number is listed on the box.
