Community Tiger Stripes
If you would like, you are now able to recognize a staff member for their positive impact on our school. If you are willing, take a moment to send a Community Tiger Stripe. The message will be sent to the staff member. Thank you in advance for taking time to help continue to relentlessly recognize the positives within our community.
Sub Info
Do you know someone who might be interested in subbing?
If you know of people who are responsible, reliable, kind individuals who enjoy students, could follow a sub plan and are looking for the flexibility of part time work, encourage them to explore their Short Call Sub License with MDE. https://mn.gov/pelsb/assets/Short%20Call%20Substitute%20Teaching%20License%20Guidance%20POST_tcm1113-451855.pdf

What are Learner Profiles?
One of the objectives of Transitions is to have learners know themselves better. A way that we will be guiding this is through learner profiles. A learner profile is a document where learners can reflect on who they are as a person and who they are as a learner. This document is entirely theirs, they can change and update their profile as needed. Some areas that learners will be reflecting on are times that they felt proud, what makes them unique, their interests & hobbies, how they like to show their learning, and what motivates them to learn something new. Learners can use this profile to help incorporate their hobbies and interests into various projects as well as communicate different ways they like to share their learning with their teachers.
New process for Student Absence for Illness (repeat)
To help reduce the number of phone calls home to collect information on symptomatic learners, we have created an absence form that parents can choose to fill out instead of a phone call. They can still choose to leave a phone message on the attendance line. The absence form will be used for illness ONLY.

At our first meeting, we will be joined by Jenn Logan Allen a Language Arts teacher and our Facilitator of Instructional Support, and Tim Schlatter our Innovative Design and Learning Specialist. They will be sharing information about the purpose of Transitions, details of the planning that took place this summer, and what the student experience has been up to this point.
Our first meeting will take virtually on Tuesday, Nov. 9th at 10:00 am
