Week in Review (May 10-14)
It was a great week at Boeckman! The weather has been amazing and has allowed us to use our outdoor classrooms and fields. We celebrated Schoool Nurse Appreciation Week. Our building nurse, Jen Darrington, has done a tremendous job this year helping us navigate this abnormal school year.
It was also Middle School Registration week, and if you have a 5th-7th grade student they should have completed their registration at home. We have extended the registration through Sunday, May 16th for those who have not yet completed their registration. Details are below.
This upcoming Thursday, May 20, we will be administering the NWEA MAP Math test. This will show individual growth from this fall. We will run a modified schedule (linked here)
If your child was absent and/or quarantined during the MCA test and/or missed the NWEA test, please reach out to Dan Thompson, our Assistant Principal (dthompson@farmington.k12.mn.us) if you would like your child to take the test upon returning to school.

Optional Summer iPad Checkout is Back for 2021-22
Dear Farmington Area Families:
Families with students who currently take iPads home in grades K-11 may now opt to checkout their district issued iPads for the summer months! This is our sixth year offering optional summer iPad checkout and our second year offering it to students in grades K-2. Last year over 86% of eligible families and students opted to check out their issued iPads. Using RevTrak to agree to the updated 2021-22 iPad Loan Agreement will ensure that your child is set with the iPad check out for the entire 2021-22 academic year.
The option for Summer iPad checkout supports our efforts to foster open-ended, personalized learning opportunities; curiosity; exploration and continued access to creative tools and resources. It also allows students to continue to have access to technology that helps them stay connected to their schools, friends, family and the community during the summer months.
We encourage families to consider checking out their learner’s district issued iPad for the summer. With the optional summer iPad checkout, fewer returning students will need to be scheduled through a “fall checkout” process when schools are back in session. This will shorten the amount of time that students and teachers are without iPads next fall. Those opting for summer iPad checkout will be set until spring 2022.
The updated 2021-22 iPad Loan Agreement, which includes helpful information for iPads checked out for the summer and also the following school year, is available online for review. In addition, the RevTrak “iPad Loan Agreement” activities are live for each site allowing parents, guardians, and students the ability to agree to the terms of the 2021-22 iPad Loan Agreement and either opt to ENROLL in, or WAIVE participation in the iPad Protection Plan. The enrollment fee for the optional iPad Protection Plan is $35 for the 2021-22 school year, with no additional fee for the summer months.
Please note that if you have not used RevTrak yet, you will need to create an account and also know your child’s student ID number to complete the registration process. The RevTrak e-Guides and Customer Account guide, along with the RevTrak Frequently Asked Questions provide helpful information for setting up and using the system.
Please see our Frequently Asked Questions for more details on the optional summer iPad checkout, the iPad Protection Plan, and repair procedures. Coming in May individual schools will share end-of-year collection information for those not choosing to take advantage of this opportunity.
For families opting to check out their learner’s iPad for the summer, please know that iPad collection dates vary by school. Therefore, it is strongly advised to please use RevTrak to review and agree to the 2021-22 iPad Loan Agreement, determine if you want to waive or enroll in the iPad Protection Plan, and complete the “checkout” process as soon as possible.
Thank you!

district@farmington.k12.mn.us | 651-463-5000Panorama Survey (May 17-21)
We thank you and your family for being our valued partners as we work together to educate the students in our district. ISD 192 values input from our students as they are important partners as we work to improve our communication, academic program and overall experience for everyone.
In order to learn more about student experiences at school, we will be asking for feedback from students in grades 3-12 via an online survey they will be completing at school. The survey shouldn’t take more than 20-30 minutes to complete.
We are asking that all of our students in grades 3-12 participate in the surveys, as their feedback will provide invaluable insights into their experiences and how we can improve and adapt our district to their needs. If a student doesn’t feel like they have enough information to answer a question, they will be able to skip the item altogether. The responses to these surveys will be completely confidential. We are partnering with a third-party vendor to support us in administering these surveys.
The survey content will ask students to self-reflect on social-emotional skills. SEL surveys ask students to self-reflect on things like their ability to keep working toward a goal and how much they are able to change their own skills. The data is particularly helpful and can ensure that the actions our schools are taking are working, and decide whether to continue or change what we are doing.
You may learn more about Panorama Surveys by watching this video or visiting https://www.panoramaed.com/
If you have any questions about the survey administration, please don’t hesitate to contact us at 651-460-1403 or dthompson@farmington.k12.mn.us.

Quarantine Information
If your learner has had a COVID-19 test and is awaiting results, they (and any learners in the household) cannot attend school or any activities until the building nurse or building administrator has verified they are medically cleared to return. Please see the linked resource for additional information from MDH regarding What to do While You Wait for a COVID-19 Test Result. If it is determined that a learner must quarantine or isolate the building nurse or building administrator will help determine the date of return.
Linked is the MDH Decision Tree that schools and youth programs will use to determine who will need to quarantine or isolate depending on the given circumstances. It also indicates when a person in quarantine or isolation may return to school or activities. As you can see in the Decision Tree, if a learner is sent home with COVID-19 symptoms any other learner(s) living in the same household will be sent home too.
As outlined in the most recent MDH Guidance, if a learner is a close contact of a positive COVID-19 case:
- A 14-day quarantine remains the CDC’s recommendation for the greatest protection against COVID-19 and is required for household close contact and close contacts associated with athletics. Household and athletic close contacts cannot test out of quarantine.
- A 10-day quarantine may be considered for non-household close contact with no symptoms.
- A 7-day quarantine with a negative PCR test on or after day 5 may be considered for non-household close contact with no symptoms upon request. You can reach out directly to your school for additional information on shortened quarantine periods.
